The Israel Desk Launches: One Newsroom, Nine Languages
By The Israel Desk NewsroomPublished:

A reader in Tel Aviv, a reader in Buenos Aires and a reader in Tehran rarely see the same story about Israel. From today they can. The Israel Desk opens its doors this morning with full editions in English, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Russian, and every article the site publishes appears in all nine at once.
What The Israel Desk is
The Israel Desk is an independent news publication covering Israel, the wider Middle East and the Jewish world. Its sections run from the war front, homeland security and the Iran file through government, the courts and the economy to culture, sport and practical guides for living in or visiting Israel. A Breaking page lists every new report the moment it is published, and the homepage carries On the Agenda, a board of confirmed upcoming events worth watching.
One set of facts in every language
Each story is produced once and rendered nine times. The facts in the Persian edition are the facts in the Hebrew edition; only the language changes. That is a deliberate answer to a media landscape in which coverage of Israel often changes shape as it crosses languages, sometimes beyond recognition.
The rules the site works by
The newsroom publishes its editorial standards in full: report what can be established, name the source in the text, fix mistakes openly and date every update. Opinion runs only in the Viewpoints section. Commercial material never mixes with reporting and appears only under the Desk Wire label. Featured images follow a published picture policy, and captions always tell readers whether they are looking at a photograph or a created illustration.
Built to be followed
Every edition has its own RSS feed, listed on the Channels page, and the site runs with no registration and no paywall. A built-in display panel lets readers enlarge text, raise contrast or stop animations, and the contact form on every page goes straight to the newsroom.
What comes next
Launch week will fill the sections one by one: background briefings on the fronts, the institutions and the files that shape Israel's story, followed by daily reporting. The pace will build quickly. For now, the desk is open, the feeds are live, and the first stories are already moving.
